I’ve been doing some thinking lately and a few nights ago at a prayer meeting something struck me. I realized what a tremendous honor it is that God chose me. I happened to be playing drums that night and I was overwhelmed by the fact that the Creator of the whole universe chose me to play drums. He chose me to be responsible for this earth. He loves me so much that he has faith in me. It’s hard for me to fathom, but for some reason God chose to place His faith in little old me… and you know what the cool thing is??…. He chose you too

At the Alliance Ministries, we want to take the christian recording process to a new level. We feel that a lot of times when artists record in secular studios, they feel they have to leave God at the door. For us, we hope to turn that idea on it’s head and say God will be with us every step of the way in the recording process. We hope to bring an atmosphere of prayer and worship and let the Holy Spirit know He is welcome to use and guide the recording in any way He sees fit. God is the producer.

Mixing

Mixing is where most of the creativity comes in, in the music production process. At the Alliance Ministries, we have the same attitude in mixing as we do in recording. We want to pray through every mix and make sure we are tapping into God’s creativity and not our own. His ways are greater than ours so why not use them?

Here is the next step after recording. Mixing is where you refine all your sounds and make everything blend together in a way that is pleasing to our ears. It’s one big puzzle, and at the Alliance Ministries we love solving them!

Mastering

Mastering is the final stage of music production. It is the process that gets your music ready for duplication. At the Alliance Ministries, the mastering process is important because it is what will make your music compete with all the other music out there. A lot of mastering engineers have problems with making the music loud, but for us, we encourage it!(unless you request otherwise) These days music is LOUD. In order for us to see our vision of positive music taking over the media industry, we have to make it LOUD too.

Here is what the song sounds like after it has been through the whole production process. It is now ready to be sent off, duplicated, and spread around the world sharing the message of God’s love:

Live Recording

The Why?

Something God has been showing me lately stems from this verse:

“…for whatever is not from faith is sin.” Romans 14:23

Every time we pray or worship or do anything with God, do we know the reason why? A question we need to constantly ask ourselves is “why am I doing what I’m doing?”. It ranges from the smallest things like “why do I close my eyes when I pray?” to “why am I even going to church?” As Christians, we need to know these answers because if we are not doing these things because the Spirit is leading, then we are doing them out of religion/routine. God is not routine. He is the most creative being in the universe. He likes to changes things up. He is interesting. He is fun. He is joyful. He wants us to know why we are doing the things we do so we can better understand Him. What I would encourage you to do is before you do anything, ask yourself, “Is this the Spirit leading?” and “Is this me acting out of religion? or out of faith?”. Thanks

P.S.- most of the reasons can be found in God’s Word. If you’re doing something that’s not in there, you might want to pray about why you’re doing it.

Ministering

Ministering to someone means you are being Jesus to them. In some cases you might be the only form of Jesus they have at this point in time. In order for you to be Jesus effectively, you have to think… who is Jesus?? Jesus is the one that is always there for us. He heals us, physically and emotionally. He laid His life down for us. He is the only One for us… So, in order to minister Jesus to a person, you have to have all those same traits. You need to be the only One in there life that they know, without a doubt, they can count on(just like Jesus in your own). You need to be willing to do anything to help them, and comfort them, even if it’s not always comfortable to you(Jesus took a beating for you)… Thanks for your time. I hope this helps bring some insight on ministering for you. I know it did for me! Thanks Jesus!

Why Bad Things Happen?

I was listening to a message on the radio the other day and the preacher was talking about the question “Why do bad things happen to good people?”. But instead of answering it, he turned it around and asked the congregation “Why do good things happen to sinful people?”… Personally, I believe that bad things need to happen in our lives because if they didn’t no one would ever turn to God for help. If everything was good all the time and you tried tell someone they need Jesus, their response would be “No I don’t, everything’s fine.” If bad things never happened we wouldn’t need heaven either, because earth would be heaven. So, next time you find yourself going through a trial, instead of getting mad at God, thank Him, because you would be a lot worse off if He didn’t let you go through them.

Who’s Watching?

As Christians, living on this earth, we are supposed to be reflections of Jesus. The question I want to ask is how well do you reflect Christ? A lot of times we go through out our days and we forget that there are people EVERYWHERE. That means someone is always watching us and how we handle every situation we’re in. That also means that we need to think about every word that comes out of our mouth, every action and reaction, every thought, every favor, everything little thing we do should be what Jesus would do Himself, if we are to call ourselves Christians. Just think what would happen if someone was watching you get mad at a waiter, or talk back to a co-worker. You might be the only reflection of Jesus that person ever sees in their whole life, so it would not be good at all if their only perception of a Christian is someone who is rude to their brothers and sisters and impatient. My encouragement to you is to never take a second for granted. Someone is always watching, so be the ambassador that Christ calls you to be, a living example of unconditional LOVE.
